Tact allows you to create contacts in the Tact app. We call these "Tact app" contacts. Tact app contacts are different from your synced device contacts or Salesforce contacts because they are created within the Tact app itself.
You can create a Tact app contact in a couple ways, from the thumbtack on your contacts page, scanning a business card, or simply by tapping on an email address. Also when you create a Tact app contact you can choose to "Save to iPhone" and/or "Send to Salesforce". The fields you are required to fill out will change based on the option(s) you choose.
Tact tip: Remember, before creating a contact you can always search on Salesforce to see if you already have a contact with the same name or email address.
